Jon Tombre is a director educated at Ecole Lecoq, Paris and at Oslo National Academy of The Arts (KHiO). He has directed more than 70 performances at a wide range of different stages both in Norway and international.

Jon Tombres performances are dedicated to exploration of the fine boarders between theater, dance, visual arts and music. He has staged a range of contemporary writers as Jon Fosse, Cecilie Løveid, Sam Sheppard, David Harrower, Presnyakov, Roland Schimmelphennig, Arne Lygre, Günter Grass and Joel Pommerat. His work consists in large scale of collaboration with different artists from hiphop, installation art, indigenous cultures as Maya and Sapmi, dancers and musicians. Jon Tombre has carved a niche for himself in the world of new playwriters and interdisciplinary theatre.

In 2014 and 2016 he was acclaimed with the Critics-prize of Norway. In 2016 his performance Vidas Extremas won a Hedda-prize for ''especial artistic achievement''.
